After a decade of making noise with bold, headline-grabbing work, Neon Black are entering an exciting new chapter - new clients, new energy, and the same creative edge that’s made them one of Sydney’s most respected independents. They’re now looking for a PR Account Manager to shape culturally resonant work for brands that sit at the intersection of lifestyle, entertainment, and culture.
Ten years ago, Neon Black opened its doors with a simple ambition: to create bold, creative work that cuts through. A decade later, the agency has grown into one of Sydney’s most respected independents – still boutique, still founder-led, but competing shoulder-to-shoulder with global networks.
Along the way, they’ve built a reputation for campaigns that don’t just make headlines but spark conversations, from BritBox’s star-powered relaunch with Kris Marshall, to a floating pizza island on Sydney Harbour, and the launch of Hay Street Market, a major dining and cultural precinct in the heart of Haymarket. Their recent win of the Philips cooking portfolio against international agencies is the clearest sign yet that Neon Black’s momentum isn’t slowing down any time soon.
Now, as Neon Black celebrates its 10th anniversary with fresh client wins, a tight-knit team, and a renewed appetite for ambitious creative work, this is a pivotal moment to join and contribute to the agency’s next decade.
Benefits & Culture
At Neon Black, collaboration comes first. The team is close-knit and supportive, with founders actively involved while giving people the autonomy to lead, grow, and make their mark. It’s a place where careers are nurtured, and where alumni often describe their time as the launchpad to the next big step.
Professional development is built into the culture. Each team member has a dedicated annual training budget, with recent programs including helping team members with client confidence by sending them on a NIDA presentation course, and helping managers lead better through a Liberated Leaders course. Lunch-and-learns with journalists and industry experts keep the team inspired and connected. Progression is based on merit, not tenure, ensuring that those who deliver and show leadership are recognised.
Neon Black are looking for a confident, culturally tuned-in PR Account Manager to join their growing team. You’ll work across an exciting portfolio of well-known consumer and lifestyle brands, leading day-to-day client activity, guiding junior team members, and helping brands earn their place in culture.
You’ll be equally comfortable managing projects, budgets, and timelines as you are pitching stories and securing top-tier media coverage. If you’re passionate about creativity, storytelling, and making brands part of the conversation, we’d love to hear from you.
