About the role

This is a senior fixed-term contract within a newly structured, high-growth team. As an Account Director, you will lead a sophisticated portfolio of clients across Corporate, Financial Services, Private Equity, Managed Funds and ASX-listed businesses. Acting as the strategic lead across your accounts, you’ll partner closely with senior clients while providing leadership to your team and working alongside the Senior Leadership Team to drive outstanding client outcomes.

The role has a strong corporate reputation and strategic communications focus, with approximately 30–40% of the portfolio involving Investor Relations and financial communications. While previous IR experience is highly regarded, it is not essential. We’re looking for an experienced corporate communications professional who is confident working with listed companies and advising senior stakeholders.

The initial contract is 9 months to 12 months with the potential to convert to perm at the end.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the strategic direction and day-to-day management of a portfolio of corporate and financial services clients.
  • Acting as the senior strategic advisor to clients, providing counsel across corporate communications, reputation management, executive profiling and thought leadership, with oversight of Investor Relations and financial communications initiatives where required.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior executives and stakeholders, delivering strategic advice on complex communications challenges.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing an Account Manager and Senior Account Executive, creating a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Taking ownership of account profitability, resourcing and commercial performance, ensuring exceptional client service and operational excellence.
  • Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to identify organic growth opportunities and contribute to new business strategy and presentations.
  • Leveraging your network of Australian business, financial and trade journalists to secure meaningful, reputation-building media coverage.

About you

Essential experience:

  • You’re an experienced Account Director, or a highly accomplished Senior Account Manager ready to step into an AD role, with a strong background in corporate communications within an agency environment.
  • You have extensive experience advising senior stakeholders on corporate reputation and strategic communications.
  • You have exposure to working with ASX-listed or publicly listed companies and understand the communications considerations that come with listed environments.
  • You have proven experience leading teams, managing complex client portfolios and delivering commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate:

  • You’re a strategic thinker who thrives on solving complex communications challenges and building long-term client partnerships.
  • You bring a strong corporate communications background and are comfortable supporting Investor Relations and financial communications programs, even if they haven’t been the primary focus of your career.
  • Experience in IR is highly regarded.
  • You’re a confident people leader who enjoys mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • You’re looking for an opportunity to make an immediate impact within a collaborative, ambitious agency, with the flexibility of an initial fixed-term contract and the potential for a long-term opportunity.
