About the role

This is a high-impact fixed-term contract within a newly structured, high-growth team. As a Senior Account Director, you will provide strategic leadership across a sophisticated portfolio of clients spanning Corporate, Financial Services, Private Equity, Managed Funds and ASX-listed businesses. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients while providing commercial oversight, mentoring senior team members and helping drive the continued growth of the practice.

The portfolio has a strong corporate reputation and strategic communications focus, with approximately 30–40% involving Investor Relations and financial communications. While experience in IR is highly regarded, it is not essential. The successful candidate will bring exceptional corporate communications expertise, experience working with listed companies and confidence advising executive stakeholders on complex communications issues.

The initial contract is 9 months – 12 months, with the potential to convert to a permanent role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acting as the senior strategic advisor across a portfolio of corporate and financial services clients, providing counsel on corporate reputation, executive positioning, issues management and strategic communications.
  • Providing oversight of Investor Relations and financial communications initiatives where required, including shareholder communications, listed company messaging and financial announcements.
  • Building trusted relationships with CEOs, executive leadership teams and Boards, providing senior counsel on complex communications challenges.
  • Leading and inspiring a high-performing team, mentoring and developing an Account Manager and Senior Account Executive while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Taking ownership of portfolio profitability, resource planning and commercial performance, ensuring sustainable growth and exceptional client outcomes.
  • Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to identify organic growth opportunities, contribute to agency strategy and play a key role in major new business pitches.
  • Leveraging your established network of Australian business, financial and trade media to deliver impactful, reputation-building coverage.
  • Contributing to the ongoing evolution of the agency by refining client service, mentoring senior talent and helping shape best practice across the corporate communications offering.

About you

Essential experience:

  • You have extensive experience advising executive stakeholders on corporate reputation, strategic communications and complex communications challenges.
  • You have worked with ASX-listed or publicly listed companies and understand the communications requirements of listed environments.
  • You have a proven track record of leading teams, managing large client portfolios and driving strong commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate:

  • You’re a commercially minded communications leader who enjoys partnering with senior clients to solve complex business and reputation challenges.
  • You bring broad corporate communications expertise and are comfortable overseeing Investor Relations and financial communications work, even if it hasn’t been the primary focus of your career.
  • Experience in IR is highly regarded.
  • You’re an inspiring leader who enjoys coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • You’re looking for an opportunity to make an immediate impact within a growing, ambitious agency, with the flexibility of an initial fixed-term contract and the potential for a long-term opportunity.
