About the job

This is a high-impact, 12-month Fixed Term Contract within a newly structured, high-growth team. As a Senior Account Director, you will be the ultimate strategic lead for a sophisticated portfolio of clients across Corporate, Financial Services, Private Equity, and Managed Funds. You will act as a key partner to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), providing a “steady hand” at the helm of the business unit while balancing top-tier client advisory with commercial management.

The role will involve:

  • Act as the primary advisor to clients during the contract period, providing sophisticated corporate communications counsel, crisis management, and high-level IR strategy (including listed company narratives and shareholder engagement).
  • Lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary team, taking direct responsibility for the professional evolution of an Account Manager and Senior Account Executive, ensuring a culture of excellence and high retention.
  • Take full ownership of your group’s profitability during your tenure. You will manage high-level budgets, resource allocation, and long-term planning to ensure sustainable commercial health.
  • Partner with SLT to identify organic growth opportunities and provide your strategic expertise for major new business pitches.
  • Leverage an extensive, high-level network of tier-one Australian business, finance, and trade editors to secure market-moving coverage and positioning for your clients.
  • Work alongside the SLT to refine agency operations, resource modelling, and service offerings to keep the agency at the forefront of the corporate PR landscape.

 

About you

  • You are currently a Senior Account Director or a high-performing AD with significant experience in a reputable corporate PR agency or sophisticated in-house financial role.
  • You possess an expert-level understanding of the Australian financial landscape, with deep experience in private equity, managed funds, or investment banking.
  • You are highly adept at navigating complex, regulated corporate environments and have a proven track record in Investor Relations and listed company reporting.
  • You understand the mechanics of agency profitability and are motivated by the challenge of growing a business unit.
  • You are known for building team morale and navigating high-pressure environments with composure, acting as a role model for junior and mid-level staff.
  • You hold high-level, long-standing relationships across the Australian business media landscape that you can leverage to drive immediate, top-tier results.
  • You are comfortable stepping into a 12-month FTC, providing the seniority and stability required to lead a high-profile division with total autonomy and confidence.
