About the job
This is a senior, permanent leadership position within a newly structured, high-growth team. As an Account Director, you will be the primary strategic lead for a sophisticated portfolio of clients across Corporate, Financial Services, Private Equity, and Managed Funds. You will act as a critical bridge between the Senior Leadership Team and the account desk, ensuring both client excellence and operational success.
The role will involve:
- Act as the primary advisor to clients during the contract period, providing sophisticated corporate communications advice and overseeing IR-adjacent requirements (e.g., listed company narratives, shareholder newsletters and trade media strategy).
- Drive the professional development of an Account Manager and a Senior Account Executive, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Take ownership of account profitability, resource allocation, and long-term commercial health of your business unit.
- Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to identify organic growth opportunities and contributing your expertise to new business presentations.
- Leverage and expand your existing network of Australian journalists to land impactful coverage across tier-one business and trade titles.
- Tap into your strong network of tier-one Australian business and trade journalists to secure high-impact, reputation-building coverage for your portfolio.
About you
- You are currently an Account Director or a senior SAM ready to step up, with a background in a reputable corporate PR agency.
- You possess a deep understanding of the Australian financial landscape, specifically regarding private equity, banking, or managed funds.
- You are adept at navigating complex corporate environments and have experience with Investor Relations and listed company reporting.
- You bring a robust, existing network of media and industry contacts that you can leverage from day one.
- You are a seasoned mentor who knows how to get the best out of a team, managing with both empathy and a focus on results.
