Right now, most PR agencies, even those that have critical hires, have put a pause on recruitment until there is more certainty in the market. There are jobs available but they are few and far between.
It’s not all bad news. There are some positive signs that the market will recover which we outline below. Stick with us and we’ll make sure you are ready to take advantage of live jobs and give you all the advice needed to make sure you are putting your best foot forward.
What is Latte seeing in the PR jobs market?
We only recruit for small to mid-sized PR agencies that pack a creative punch, are strategic and deliver great work.
The good news is that the majority of our clients are not making redundancies. They are holding tight and many still haven’t needed to furlough anyone. There is work to be done, retainers to be maintained and some are even winning new business.
We feel that as soon as things start to get back to normal all of the hiring freezes will be lifted. Freelance will come back with a bang and critical hires will move with pace as teams that needed extra support are fatigued.
Outside of this, we do think it will take some time for the permanent job market to fully recover but we are confident it will. PR was very candidate short to begin with. Loads of jobs and not enough candidates looking for jobs meant that some roles were open for between 6 – 12 months.
What can you do to be ready to secure roles that are available?
With time on your hands it’s important you utilise this to nail your approach to job hunting. In the coming weeks we’ll be providing details tips and advice on:
