About the Role

  • Autonomy:You’ll be the PR lead, leaving you with a lot of autonomy and the opportunity of building a team yourself. The next hire is likely to be a PR & Events Executive, and there is scope in the future for the PR Manager to manage an external agency on projects.
  • Campaigns:You would be charged with operating and creating PR campaigns for any of their upcoming products. This would also include raising awareness for award consideration as this brand builds its prestige.
  • Collaboration:You will be working alongside a full social team, including: Marketing, social, content, 3 videographers, a prominent journalist consultant and an award-winning consultant with documentary awards from Tribeca Film Festival. Aside from this, this company also has a very prominent sister company which is also a whiskey distillery.
  • Family environment: the team is very close and considers themselves a family – with their main bonding factor being whiskey.
  • Wine & Dine: As the sole PR manager, a sizeable budget is kept aside to wine & dine journalists – an element of the role that you would be actively encouraged to pursue. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

 

About you

  • Experience in the Luxury Drinks Industry: Essential to the procurement of this role is prior experience specifically in the Luxury Drinks Industry, amounting to between 5 and 8 years’ experience, up to 10 years’ experience is useful in this job. This experience can also dictate your salary.
  • Independent Worker: Initially working by yourself on the entire PR offering for the firm, you would need to have clear, creative strategies for the company to follow as they pursue their hypergrowth model.
  • Passion for Whiskey: It goes without saying that within a brand as passionate and driven as this one, where the whole ethos revolves around the unique crafting of whiskey and the maintenance of this culture, that their employees must share that fire.
  • Entrepreneurial: In this role, the candidate will be required not only to orchestrate stand-out PR campaigns, but to wine & dine journalists and industry hot-shots in order to drum up more press for the brand. A candidate with a wealth of luxury drink industry experience and knowledge would be a perfect fit for this role, especially with an established network in the industry.
